As per our email and notifications on June 23, the charging of fees has recommenced this week. We would like to clarify what has happened pre-COVID-19, during COVID-19 and what will be happening now.
Leading up to the non-charging period of COVID-19, all accounts were being charged as per normal up until the fee relief commencement date. All accounts with an existing debt over $50 continued to be charged until the account debt level fell below the $50 cut off. If accounts had a debt below $50 or account holder requested a hold on accounts during the fee relief period, these debts still exist. All account without debt we only charged up until the fee relief date and zeroed out at that date, they did not get charged in advance as per the fee policy and begin this charging period with a zero balance.
During the fee relief period, there were no fee charges but some accounts still incurred 'failure to notify' charges and 'late collection' charges. These charges will still exist on your account and require payment.
As of Monday, July 13, the charging of fees has recommenced. We are highlighting this history as your accounts will be charged as per the fee policy based on your chosen frequency of payment which is as follows:
- Where a weekly payment frequency is requested, fees are charged the balance at the end of the current week plus one week in advance.
- Where a fortnightly payment frequency is requested, fees are charged the balance at the end of the current week plus two weeks in advance.
- Where a monthly payment frequency is requested, fees are charged the balance at the end of the current week plus four weeks in advance.
Due to the accounts zeroing out as of this week your accounts will be charged the weeks in advance required by the frequency set against the account. If you have not selected differently, the default charging frequency is weekly on Thursdays.
Please ensure your direct debit details are up to date and correct to avoid the direct debit agency charging an extra fee.
